New map viewer started around 2020 when arcgis enterprise version v10.9.1 released.
If you don't do anything, your system willl still using old classic map viewer as your default map viewer.
So in order to use new map viewer, you should just simple do 1 step confgure.
Arcgis portal and arcgis online both apply
