where to find motel,bar,night club, inn, hotel, ( 911 POI )

Question

 

Step 1.

My client want  motel, bar, night club, inn, hotel, etc.. in surrounding cities.  

I can not find these private business list from any governemt website so far. 

I have asked Los Angeles county GIS, they don't  maintain these private business list.

It will be very difficult for california state to maintain a state level business list. 

For federal level, maybe IRS has these business list, but it is not possible to access at the moment.  

 

 

 

Step 2.

By collecting all POI for all surrounding cities is not economic practicable, also is not timingly practicable. We border with city of Los Angeles along with other 10s to 20 small cities. By collecting all POI in this large area is not practicable. Also those huge amount of POI data ( most of them are useless ) will slow down our gis server. We only want very small portion of POI, just focus on motel,bar,night club, inn, hotel, 

 

 

 

Step 3.

this sample only collect night_club POI in fairly large area.

1). type category name "night_club"

2). click big button "click here to shoot"

3). only night club POI show up, then you can download all of them

Step 5.

If you don't put your google api key, you will see blank screen like below. 

To fix it:

1).Put put google api key here, 

2). click use your key button, 

3). google will start charging your credit card when you collect POI. The rate is about $17 for 1k POI.

4). your key can only be used by you. Your key is safe,  this web page do not have any mechanisium to track or store your key or any kind.  Like shopping website don't store your credit card number.
