esri's POI isn't made in house, not like google, yelp, apple , they have capability to collect poi business info directly from users.
You can upload a business in google map, apple map, yelp map. Your business can show up instantly in google, apple, yelp map.
Esri's does not have such capability.
Esri's bought POI from another company in 2024 winter.
Not like google, yelp, apple, esri's poi does not have business photo, phone, open hours, open status, etc.....
As of end 2025, esri's poi does not even provide business address, which is required for 911 dispatch.
why not just buy from google? my guess is esri made their choice based on economic reason, google is too expensive for them. while they don't have capability to collect business info from users.
